Sherbet

Today we made sherbet for science and my group was Bella, Joey, Max, Peter and ME. First we had to taste all of the ingredients first we tasted icing sugar it was very sweet. Then we tasted Baking soda it was very bitter. After the very bitter baking soda we tasted citric acid it was very painful there was only one ingredient left and it was drum roll tactic acid it was more painful then the citric acid. When the whole class tasted all of the ingredients we made sherbet our first type of sherbet was very sour because of all the tantric acid and the citric acid. We tried 10 times to get the right type of sherbet so we added one of more tsp of powder sugar then we added all our bad sherbet it became our best one yet.

My favourite part about making sherbet was tasting all the ingredients.

Passport 2

The past few weeks I have been working on a writing for Christmas in the park for my topic it is about when Christmas in the Park started and why it was made. Here is my writing.

Christmas in the park is a big event for 250,000 people to attend. There are lots of people who play music at this event. There are different locations for where this event can be held at Auckland Domain, Auckland and in Christchurch Hagley park and this event starts Saturday 24th of November to Saturday 8th of December this event is also sponsored by Coca-Cola and Youthline. This event has been going for right around 26 years by a lady that goes by the name of Annette Chillingworth. The reason why she made this event is because she said “I want to bring family and community all together and also over the past few years the Christmas in the park has changed a lot like cola sponsoring them is well and each performance draws gets right around thousand dollars.

Making shapes

The past few days we have been making shapes for Math's. The three shapes I did was a cube, Egyptian pyramid and a cone. The cone was very had to make because I couldn't clue it together so I had to use cell tape and I finished my cube. It was very fun to also help someone with the cone and it was also fun to have a new learning experience.

Pollution

The past few weeks I have been working on a writing topic on pollution in air and sea. Here is my writing.

Pollution

The ocean and air are some of the greatest things ever known to man but it has a secret. It is full with filth and has diseases. This is because of us humans using plastic bags, plastic water bottles and even plastic straws and gases also spray paint. All of this stuff is put inside our ocean and also goes into our air and pollutes. There is over 12 Million plastic inside our ocean and we need to stop more plastic going in the ocean.

Firstly pollution is one of the most devastating and affecting killers for more than 100 Million people worldwide. For more than 1 Billion people can not have access to clean water more than 5 thousand people die every day from drinking dirty and filthy water. All of the garbage that is dumped into the water is over 6 billion kg.

Secondly air pollution is when non wanted chemicals, gases and particles that enters in the air and the atmosphere that is also harming wildlife and is damaging natural cycle of the earth. A few sources of air pollution come from nature. This also includes eruption of volcanoes, Dust storms and fire storms.

Lastly Human activity is a huge cause of air pollution especially in very large cities. Human air pollution is caused by things such as factories, Spray paint, Cars, Airplane, Ships and trucks. Inhaling these chemicals can also cause health problems. People with a heart disease and have lung cancer, elderly adults and children are at greater risk from air pollution.

We must stop pollution by using reusable plastic bags. Either than using cars we can walk, bus but that is just a few things on how to stop pollution either in the ocean or air pollution. Another way on how to stop air pollution is to have more electrical cars that doesn't use gas.

In conclusion air pollution and pollution is technically not good for sea life and humans. We must stop polluting the ocean and also the earth's atmosphere. We must stop air pollution cause it can cause heart disease and can also damage the brain, nerves, liver and even the kidney. Do your part to save the world now!

This Friday some of my group shot there potato into the air and it worked for them it did not work for me because when I was going to shoot I put the sharp end when my teacher clearly told my whole class to put the blunt end in first. I tired shooting the potato six times but my teacher also told my group it alright because most of the science experiments we do wont work and its also a learning experience.

We only got to eat one skittle and gummy worm but the the worm was cut up into little pieces. So then we had to make a prediction on which Forceps would be good to pick up the skittle , paper and the gummy worm other groups had much different prediction than my group of six. At the end my group split up the gummy worms and the skittles to eat.

Once we finished all of the checks we went riding. We learnt how to indicate on the road while on your bike.

All nine stars have meanings. One of the star's (Pohutukawa) meaning remembers those who have passed. Another one (Waiti) watches over our freshwater and environments and one welcomes winter sky and waters.

That's not all, there are more meanings to all nine stars.
