Spud Gun

Today and last Friday we did a science experiment on Potato spud guns the first time we did the experiment it didn't work. This Friday some of my group shot there potato into the air and it worked for them it did not work for me because when I was going to shoot I put the sharp end when my teacher clearly told my whole class to put the blunt end in first. I tired shooting the potato six times but my teacher also told my group it alright because most of the science experiments we do wont work and its also a learning experience.

St Peter's Orchestra

This week the St Peter's Orchestra came to good shepherd school to perform all types of songs. The family strings were there and the woodwinds. The string family performed very lovely songs and a scary song which was a bit too loud. The woodwinds performed all types of songs.

Personally my favorite was the Pink panther performed by the saxophone.

War world one

Today we got to learn about people whom actually served in the war. My buddy was Setaita and we got a picture of a woman called Harriet Simeon who was a part of the WROF. That stands for Woman's Royal Air Force. Then we also had a man called Matuha's birth certificate. Some of the information was not filled in like when his birthday was and he also did not know the name of his parents back then people were very racist. Our teacher got an exclusive pack from some school kit.

Science

Today for science we did a topic around birds to see which Forceps would be the best for picking up the gummy worms, paper and skittles. We only got to eat one skittle and gummy worm but the the worm was cut up into little pieces. So then we had to make a prediction on which Forceps would be good to pick up the skittle , paper and the gummy worm other groups had much different prediction than my group of six. At the end my group split up the gummy worms and the skittles to eat.

Passports

This term we have been doing passports. These passports have activities around New Zealand Music and the aim is to hit 200 points. There are 6 topics and 5 activities in each row so far I only have ten points because I started a bit later than others but to get points you need to finish as much activities as possible and then check with teachers to get your points.

Athletics Day

On Wednesday the whole school went to Three Kings Reserve for our athletics. For most of the races I came third for each of them and in discus I came second. For the other sports I did not place. Once when all of the field activities were finished we had relays for the girls v girls and the boys v boys. My team came third but it was fun to try something new.

Saints

The past few weeks we have been doing a topic on All Saints Day. The saint I chose was St. Cecilia.  The reason I did St. Cecilia is cause she always helps me in music because she is the patron saint of Music and because also my sisters name is Cecilia. We also wrote down a prayer to St. Cecilia.

Here is a photo of my project.
